I will present recent results on scalar anomalous dissipation—the so-called ‘zeroth law of scalar turbulence’—with a focus on preserving key postulates of turbulence phenomenology. On the technical side, we explore the intersection of convex integration and quantitative homogenization. Our work builds upon seminal results of De Lellis, Székelyhidi, Armstrong, and Vicol. This talk is based on joint work with L. Székelyhidi and B. Wu
