Moment-angle complexes have well-understood cohomology, but their homotopy types remains to be further explored. Previous work of Grbić–Theriault and Iriye–Kishimoto, for example, identified families of moment-angle complexes that decompose as wedges of spheres; many other cases remain open.In this talk, I will describe the moment-angle complex associated to the complex of injective words and give a complete computation of its homotopy type. It exhibits a direct correspondence to a combinatorial invariant: its homotopy type is determined by the h-vector of the complex of injective words. I will present the motivation, the key ideas of the proof and conclude with a few consequences of it.
