What's Happening in Fine Hall

Landau damping, in the broad sense of linear and nonlinear stability of homogeneous equilibria among solutions of Vlasov equations, is one of the most fundamental phenomena in kinetic theory. I will discuss the main problems in the context of the Vlasov-Poisson  system, both for confined and unconfined plasmas, and review some of
the classical results and the recent progress in the field.
