The 78th annual William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition, organized by the Mathematical Association of America, includes the Unites States and Canada. In 2017, 4,638 students from 575 institutions participated and spent two 3 hour sessions solving 12 problems.

Princeton University placed third in the team competition receiving an award of $15,000 and each team member, Murilo Corato Zanarella, Zhuo Qun Song, and Xiaoyu will receive $600.  Additionally, Zhuo Qun (Alex) Song and Xiaoyu Xu were recognized as part of the next ten highest ranking individuals after the Putnam Fellows with an award of $1,000 each. Rodrigo Angelo, Murilo Corato Zanarella, Andrei Graur, Eric Neyman received honorable mention.  Congratulations to all the winners!
