Professor Sun-Yung Alice Chang was selected for the 2019 class of AWM Fellows by the Association for Women in Mathematics "for shattering the glass ceiling and inspiring women mathematicians to follow her lead; for her leadership of the Princeton mathematics department and her extraordinary record of groundbreaking research in geometric analysis that has had worldwide impact."

This is the second year of the AWM Fellows Program, which was established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to the support and advancement of women in the mathematical sciences, consistent with the AWM mission: “to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences.”
