Arthur Strong Wightman, Thomas D. Jones Professor of Mathematical Physics, Emeritus and former Chair of our department, died on January 13, 2013.Professor Wightman received his Ph.D. from Princeton in 1949 and joined Princeton that same year. He retired in 1992. Professor Wightman was 90 years old.
The University flag over East Pyne was raised at half-mast in his memory from January 15th to January 17th.
