Stability of shear flow near boundaries in the inviscid limit

This talk is devoted to the review of recent progress in the study of the stability of shear flows for Navier Stokes equation near a boundary, as the viscosity goes to zero. In particular, I will detail the analysis of the resolvent of linearized Navier Stokes equation, namely so-called Orr Sommerfeld equations, in the case of stable and unstable profile, and discuss nonlinear instability results.
