The homotopy limit problem for a scheme X compares theGrothendieck--Witt theory of X (the K-theory of symmetric bilinearforms) with the C_2-homotopy fixed points of the K-theory of X. Thisis an algebraic analog of the map from KO-theory to the C_2-homotopyfixed points of KU-theory. This problem has been studied when 2 isinvertible on X by Hu–Kriz–Ormsby, Berrick–Karoubi–Schlichting–Østvær,and Bachmann–Hopkins. I will explain positive results when X is aregular scheme where 2 is not required to be invertible. Joint workwith Markus Land.
