The minimal model program predicts that, up to a special class of equivalence, projective varieties can be decomposed into iterated fibrations with general fibers of 3 basic types: Fano varieties, Calabi-Yau varieties, and varieties of general type. In this talk, I will discuss what we know about boundedness of these special classes of varieties with a special focus on recent results on boundedness of fibered Calabi-Yau manifolds.
