In this talk, I shall try to give an overview of Bressan's mixing conjecture. Starting with an outline of the seminal work of  
DiPerna-Lions and Ambrosio on the transport equation, I'll motivate the conjectures of Bressan. After this we'll look at some toy  
combinatorial problems and discuss some approaches to this conjecture which has lead to some interesting harmonic analysis.
