The question of Strichartz estimates on tori on a time scale 1 has been fully answered in the recent work of Bourgain and Demeter. On longer time scales, rational and irrational tori behave very differently. I will present new results in this direction, natural conjectures, and sketch some possible nonlinear applications. This is joint work with Yu Deng, Larry Guth, and Simon Myerson.
