Lecture III

I will review in this lecture the known structures of singularity formation. Blow up profiles play a distinguished role, they are the non linear waves which support the energy concentration mechanism. I will describe several canonical examples on type I and type II blow up and explain the strategies developed both for the construction of blow up profiles and the proof of their stability.
