Woke up this morning with a really bad aftertaste of a bizarre dream. S knows all about it, and why I shouldn't include it in my journal entry. Note to self: the details of the dream is in a e-mail conversation with S dated August 19th.
Nothing much to report about myself (where does the time go?). The page about me is now operational on this version of Sortir en Pantoufles. The design is slightly different from the previous one. Part of what I did today was looking about appropriate Chinese quotes as epithets for the pages. 古文觀止 has been most wonderful for that purpose. I really ought to re-read the selections in it.
Part of the reason that I am designing my site to be more Chinese friendly is that my great friend and teacher, 李華隆老師, mentioned that he tried viewing my website. Unfortunately, his English is about as good as my Spanish, and "Yo no hablo español, habla usted inglés?" is pretty much all I can speak in Spanish. So unfortunately, my old cryptic remarks about wwong AT princeton DOT edu did not register with him as my e-mail address. Well, that sucked. The two of us have been trying to contact each other for ages, and he found my website, but couldn't read my e-mail address. So, one of my goals for this incarnation of the website is to provide both English and Chinese versions of important information. (Oh, and in case you didn't notice, the little blurb in the "about me" page is a parody of fan-site listings of pop idols in East Asia.)
Hum, what else? Mom and I roasted a chicken for dinner today. It was three-and-a-half pounds of yumminess. Tomorrow will be lobster and Chicken soup. The only regret is that we don't have a rotisserie oven, so while the top site of the chicken got wonderfully crispy, the bottom side was still soggy.
