Wow! Third post today, and here I thought I have been neglecting my blog.
Anyway, it turns out that I am not the only person to have noticed the large number of spiders in Britain this autumn. Going out for a stroll in the neighborhood I see at least one spider web per yard. Every now and then I have to duck because of a spider hanging right under a tree branch that I didn't see until it almost ended up on my face.
And coming home from work today, I met my first giant house spider. I was just about to wash my hand in the kitchen sink when I did a double take. This poor large fellow is stuck in the sink and couldn't get out. One old-fashioned glass and a cardboard later, it scampered away into the backyard.
And there are still quite a few smaller ones hanging around the house.
