Some more recaps

All About Me, Rants

More quick recaps of past weeks.

May 29 - June 8 I spent in Boston. Notable events: completion of the first episode of Xenosaga, lots of Pikman, a going away party for S, dim sum with some other residents of Davis Square + more, running into Aleks while shopping (and consequently met him for coffee one afternoon). S and I were planning to have a nice dinner in a North African restaurant on June 7, but, it seems that most likely due to the heavy down-pour, the restaurant wasn't open when we arrived. So we went back to Davis Square. Our misadventure continued when our second choice, a mediterranean place, looked too fancy (for I was in shorts and we were rain soaked). So we ended up at Johnny D's and had some pretty good food while listening to live Irish music.

June 10 S got dunked. It is a tradition at S's coed frat to dunk the first person (?) to be engaged (for marriage) in a pledge class into the Charles. The attack occured during alum BBQ for the frat. I am a lousy traitor for helping plot the attack. ;p

While all that was happening, mom and I drove up to Williamstown because T is in a horse show for Sunday. I was introduced to the two golden retrievers T's lab advisor keeps, and became good friend with them.

June 11 I woke up to the sound of footsteps approaching my bed (the professor was kind enough to let us stay at his house while he is away the weekend in Cape Cod). I thought it was T getting up early (she needed to be at the farm by 6:30am). I opened my eye to big puppy eyes and a tongue sticking out to meet my nose. Hatley, seeing me awake, decides then to put her paws on me and almost climbed up the bed (thank divinity that Nobska, the bigger, older, male one, never managed to learn to climb the stairs).

Surprisingly, T won several ribbons: a red, a white, and two greens (the order of the ribbons is blue, red, yellow, white, pink, green; this seems to be different from the way they do it at state fairs, which, according to Wiki, is blue red white yellow green orange purple brown). Apparently she has good posture when it comes to horseback riding. On the one hand, this is some pretty good achievement for someone who had only ridden for 2 months; on the other, in two of the events she is senior to all other competitors by at least 7 years...

And I went wild with her Canon Rebel XT and got some 200 pictures.

June 12 Helped S pack for China.
