Perplexing audition results

Music, All About Me

Yay! For Me!

Okay, I am actually more perplexed than happy at this moment. So, I went to Woolworth to check on the Jazz Ensemble audition results. To be honest, I wasn't quite expecting it to be posted yet.

Anyway, I got here, and took a look around, and saw that there's a new white piece of paper on the board. I was like, oh!, it's out. Ralph sure is quick at this things.

And then, I looked at the posting. Naturally, since I've been playing for PUJE2 for four years, my eyes directly went toward the JE2 section. There were a huge list of people in the sax section there. HUGE! It is, I think, bigger than fall term last year, when we had 4 altos, 2 tenors, and a bari. Anyway, I wasn't on it. I was shocked! I am sure I am a better player than most of those guys on there (well, maybe not Rob Weiss, who plays tenor). And so, out of desperation, I thought, maybe I am finally good enough to play in CJE.

At first glance, I didn't even see my own name, because it is somewhere I didn't quite expected it (also, for JE1, Ralph organized the listing Trumpet-Trombone-Sax as opposed to the usual Sax-Trumpet-Trombone so I had a bit of a hard time figuring out where the Sax seating went). Turns out that Irvin did NOT audition this year. And Rob Spackey only wants to play small groups. So... I got first seating on the CJE sax section. I mean, I've waited to play in CJE for four years... and here I am, likely to be the next lead alto in the band. If you will excuse my French, it is Fucking Awesome.

This, my friend, is a weird year.
