Global well-posedness of the KP-I equation in the energy spac

I will discuss some recent work (joint with C. E. Kenig and D. Tataru) on a non-perturbative method for proving existence of solutions of certain evolution equations. I will show how to apply this method to prove global well-posedness in the energy space of the KP-I initial-value problem.
