Topic: Restriction of the Fourier Transform to Quadratic Submanifolds
Presenter: Adrian Banner, Princeton University
Date: Friday, May 10, 2002, Time: 1:00 p.m., Location: Fine Hall 1001
Abstract: In this talk I shall describe the problem of $L^p$-$L^2$ restriction of the Fourier transform to a model class of submanifolds of Euclidean space, namely quadratic submanifolds. The cases of codimension 1 and 2 have been understood for some time, whereas little is known for codimension greater than 3. I will show how an aspect of the theory of resolution of singularities can be used to get new results in this case.
