Reading Group :Efficient algorithms for (non)linear representations

Two papers on basic tools for the reading group will be presented:

• An oft-cited paper in this area: The space complexity of approximating the frequency moments, Alon, Matias, and Szegedy.

• A paper on oft-used techniques: Stable Distributions, Pseudorandom Generators, Embeddings, and Data Stream Computation, Piotr Indyk. FOCS'00.
