On Internet traffic modeling
Abstract:
Several models have been proposed dealing with Internet traffic. The first part of the talk will give a description of a number of such models, focusing on the advantages and the disadvantages of each one.
The second part of the talk will present a new model, which builts on the previous ones, but yields better results, at the price of a slightly increased complexity. Time permitting, the notion of "traffic levels" will be introduced, as well as tools used for their detection, and some validation evidence will be given.
