Modelling Internet traffic as a stochastic process

Abstract:This talk will focus on the description of a procedure which results to
the creation of a stochastic process whose properties, as determined through
parameters derived using statistical methods to be explained, are
indistinguishable from those of real traffic data (Connection Speed - Time)
collected on a particular network link, and also on the identification of the major
network and protocol induced influence on the aforementioned parameters, and
the mechanisms through which it is achieved.
