Prof. Manjul Bhargava and Prof. Amit Singer appointed Simons Investigators

Professors Manjul Bhargava and Amit Singer have been appointed as Simons Investigators by the Simons foundation in the inaugural year of the program.

The Simons Investigator Award is a 5-year program where the Simons Investigator will receive research support each year.

The award requirements are that a scientist must be engaged in theoretical research in Mathematics and must have a primary appointment as a faculty member at a U.S. institution. (This award was determined by a distinguished panel of mathematicians who chose Simons Investigators after a careful nomination and vetting process.) This appointment will begin on August 1, 2012.
