Positivity of Quasi-local Mass

Quasi-local mass is a quantity associated to a spacelike 2-surface in a four dimensional spacetime. Several definitions of quasi-local mass have been proposed. I will discuss the positivity of one particular quasi-local mass based on joint works with Shing-Tung Yau.
